Engaging Children and Youth at the Church

School is back in session and that means all of our children and youth programs at the Church are back up and running as well. At the Church, we believe a home centered on Jesus becomes the epicenter of an active life of faith. You aren’t in the journey of raising young disciples alone. the Church desires to partner with your family to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus.  The primary place for faith development is in the home. Children and youth programs at the Church exist to support you and to help children grow in discipleship skills such as, using God’s Word and living in authentic community. From infants to high school there is a place for you and your family to connect.

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP:

The body of Christ includes people of every age. Including children in the corporate worship experience strengthens the faith of the child, includes him/her in the larger church community, and allows children to see their parents and other adults engage in practices of faith. God is a master of allowing his Word to penetrate the hearts of adults and children alike. It might be a bit noisier, and it’s not always easy, but we love having your littles in worship alongside of us.

TODDLERS – 6th GRADE: KIDS CONNECTION, Sunday mornings 10:15-11:30 am

This is a multi-age gathering that incorporates learning Biblical truths through songs, stories, games, and activities, while emphasizing building relationships with other children and adults.

Toddlers are welcome to come and play and listen in as they are able. Starting at age 3 we encourage children to actively participate in the classroom activities. 3rd-6th grade students meet separately for part of the class time. 5th/6th grade students choose each week to either be an assistant with the smaller children or participate in the group for older children. Parents are welcome to stay and help or attend the adult 2*22 class. This year’s theme is “Adventurers: Exploring God’s Story”.

5th-6th GRADE: LIFE IN THE WORD, Sunday evenings 5-6:30pm

Students in 5th-6th grade meet three times a month to study the foundational elements of our faith, such as the Apostle’s Creed, Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer and Sacraments. Students practice using their Bibles, applying scripture to their lives, and continue to grow in Christian community. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are encouraged to attend with their child.

7th-12th GRADE: HIGHER GROUND, Sunday evenings 6:30-8pm (1x a month 5:30)

Students in 7th-12th grade gather each Sunday night for games, growing in friendship and conversations around God’s Word. During these gatherings we emphasize students gaining independence in their walk with Jesus and building leadership skills as they walk alongside others. In addition to weekly gatherings, Higher Ground students also attend two retreats a year and summer mission trips. This year’s theme is “Discovering Truth”.

MOMS WITH KIDS OF ANY AGE: MOM to MOM, Wednesdays at 9am
