He's Coming, part 2: Are you Prepared?
If people in Jesus’ day were looking for the prophet Elijah to return to announce the coming Messiah, would they recognize someone clearly dressed and acting like the prophet Elijah? If they were looking toward the call to make straight paths, would they recognize the call to repent and have their hearts made right? If preparing in John’s day meant repentance and being turned back to the Lord, what does it mean today?

The season of Advent looks forward to the coming kingdom, looking back and celebrating it’s coming in the person and work of the promised and prophesied Messiah, recognizing His kingdom come today in the Church (His body on Earth), and looking forward to Christ’s second coming the ultimate coming of the kingdom. Advent is a season of anticipation, preparation, and even revelation for those who don’t know how or when He is coming. The ultimate goal is that each listener will know that Jesus is coming, take seriously the work of preparing for His coming.
