More Than Meets The Eye, part 4: In Our Own Way

 More Than Meets the Eye

Sometimes as we follow Jesus, we are the ones standing in our own way. We tend to make inferences about Jesus and His work that are based on assumptions from our own experiences and observations. These inferences and assumptions can often keep us from being open in the moment. How you respond in crisis, or to rebuke, often shows what you assume to be true. And what you expect from and think of God is often clear in what you are open to receive from Him.

From Series: " More Than Meets the Eye "

This 6-week series follows the Pentecost lectionary schedule, beginning with the first Sunday after Pentecost, Trinity Sunday. In learning about the growth of the kingdom, we are presented with a view of God’s work, much of which is unseen. From the small beginnings, to the workings of growth, and from the movement of the Spirit, to God invisibly working through visible people, there is much more going on than meets the eye. During the Pentecost I series, both the Gospel and the Epistle (mostly from Mark and 2 Corinthians) are emphasized by the theme for the day, so they are both highlighted.
