More Than Meets The Eye, part 3: No Small Thing

You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover.” “Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.” In Jesus’ time, one might have said, “Don’t judge the size of the plant by the size of the seed” or “The plant grows whether or not the gardener understands how.” God’s kingdom is no small thing, but it can be easy for us to judge based on what we see, and to get discouraged when we don’t see the results we want, or expect.

From Series: " More Than Meets the Eye "

This 6-week series follows the Pentecost lectionary schedule, beginning with the first Sunday after Pentecost, Trinity Sunday. In learning about the growth of the kingdom, we are presented with a view of God’s work, much of which is unseen. From the small beginnings, to the workings of growth, and from the movement of the Spirit, to God invisibly working through visible people, there is much more going on than meets the eye. During the Pentecost I series, both the Gospel and the Epistle (mostly from Mark and 2 Corinthians) are emphasized by the theme for the day, so they are both highlighted.
