Why Give Thanks, part 1: Remember

Why Give Thanks

Perhaps the most-used command/invitation in the Scriptures, REMEMBER is a pattern interrupt. It’s a Divine jolt to our system entreating us to pause and reflect. Sometimes asking us to recall our actions. But, always, encouraging us to bring to mind God’s character and activity in our lives. God is faithful. God is good. God is holy. God is gracious. God is powerful. God knows. God is active. We learn all of these characteristics, and more, by remembering. And, when we remember, we give thanks!

From Series: "Why Give Thanks "

This 4-week series is centered on the reason we give thanks. Healthy Homes Built on Grace and Truth want to recognize God’s gifts and say “Thank you.”. It’s much more than simply good manners to say “Thank you.” God actually inhabits the praise of His people. When we activate our “thanksgiving” by remembering, speaking, acknowledging, and witnessing God actually works to encourage us. Each of these actions encourages us to keep living closer to God.
